The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA), the main UK beneficiary of the recent ‘ALS ice bucket challenge’ craze, is asking the public how they would like to see the money spent.
The charity currently funds invasive animal experimentation, which has included supporting a study that used genetically modified mice bred to suffer severe motor impairment and muscle weakness. In just a few weeks’ time, we will be exposing the shocking details of a whole series of animal experiments that are currently receiving funding from the MNDA. In the meantime though, we have a unique opportunity to let the charity know that the public does not want to see their donations used to fund cruel animal experiments.
Please complete the MNDA’s one-question survey and use the blank space to politely request that the money raised is used only to fund humane and productive non-animal research, which will have the best chance of helping motor neurone disease patients, as well as saving animals from suffering.
If you can share this post on social media and ask your friends and family to take action too, we will stand a much better chance of ensuring that the money from the ‘ALS ice bucket challenge’ results in concrete medical progress rather than pointless animal suffering.
Please take action now.
Thank you.
